Tom makes manyh arrows from River cane. I got a batch of river cane and tonkin boo for arrow making and I like them both, but like the tonkin a but more.Step one is to cut it and let it dry.Step Two,...

cool thanks phil..ill look into that some more..if not river cane..ill use some kind of dowl..im interested in the viking type of stuff..so im going too try too make some kind of traditional viking...

bowyerxcoremike,I highly recommend ash or birch dowels as shafts over rivercane. It's thinner, lighter, and pre-straightened to a degree. If not dowels, then even Bamboo shoots is more durable and...
